Knee pain is very common in our society today. It can be caused by our lifestyles. A cycle of sitting all day, then doing exercises without proper stretching is the most common cause. This constant cycle of sedentary positions then vigorous exercise without proper stretching can lead to knee pain.
Why do you get knee pain
The knee is just two bones that sit on top of each other. The knee is controlled, not just by your thigh muscles, but by the stability of your hip and ankle. Our physiotherapists assess your entire body to find the root cause of your injury. Every body moves differently so we will tailor your rehab program to suit your knees.
What to do when you have pain?
If you experience knee pain you can try resolve it yourself by complete some basic stretches on the front of your thighs or hips. Stick to stretches that you care comfortable with. Do not attempt complex stretching positions when you are in pain. A stretch should be held for about 20 seconds in order to stimulate the muscles cells to relax. Repeat this 2 or 3 times and see if it resolved or reduces your pain.
